Waking up on a Friday morning to -10 and snow flurries is always my favorite! I want to be cozy and warm on these days and it got me to thinking of what my comforting cozies are?
When it comes to the world of books and being cozy infront of the Netflix fireplace, I couldn’t think of anything better than a classic. When I think of a comforting classic I always go back to Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles. The heroine in love with the forbidden. Set in Victorian England this book describes in detail some incredible places in England I was lucky enough to see living there.
On the flip side, I also love a comforting summer book that isn’t too intense, to transport me to a tropical island whilst in reality I have fluffy pj’s, 10 blankets, hot chocolate and a puppy keeping me warm! My current read for this is the Two Week Stand by Samantha Towle. If a chick flick was a book this would be it. Bridget Jones vibes with a definite raunchy side, my husband gets ignored when I enter this world as its all encompassing. The image I created of Dillon definitely wasn’t bad either if you have seen a picture of my hubby!

As my morning went on and the hot chocolate flowed, I started to think of the food’s that bring me comfort, and being English the first thing that came to mind was fish and chips! And a decent fish and chip restraunt in Canada is hard to find, believe me I’ve tried! So today’s lunch had to of course reflect this comfort and I must say it was delicious, even if they weren’t proper chips!
Now of course, no comfort day is complete without a good dessert, however, I haven’t decided which brings me the most comfort and with only having apple crisp two days ago (recipe on homepage), trying to think of something more comforting, well that has my brain ticking away.
I do have a slight spoiler for tomorrow as when I was laying in bed last night writing the grocery list, I had a chocolate and Caramel filled thought… and that is all I’m going to reveal for now.
If any of you have any comforting book’s and recipes that you love this time of year please feel free to share them by email or Instagram!
