Another one down!
This series has won me, I spent New Year’s Day curled up on the couch whilst hubby played video games. Reading is my favorite form of relaxation and I felt like I needed to return to this series.
Stacy Green is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The way she tells the story of Agent Nikki Hunt is one of slow progression and little reveals, but they all fit into the story, the more you read more is revealed and it is a very clever way of writing.
Book two was very intense, the story flowed in a way where if you tried to read fast it didn’t make sense. Not that I always read fast but when your doing laundry, playing video games then cooking your favorite wings sometimes you have to speed read so you don’t loose the story.
These are definitely thriller novels full of gory details around murders and yes I did it again, with my criminology background, I was able to figure out who did it pretty early in the book, but the way it was written I did doubt my analogy several times. However, when I reached the end I had that, “I knew it” moment.
The true tell of the amazing writing in this book was that of how the author was able to spin a secondary story into the main story but have it all come back full circle. To say that I found this extremely impressive was an understatement.
Today I plan to dig my way into book three as I am now fully committed to this series and cannot wait to read how Nikki’s story further unfolds!
