So one of my favorite foods in the whole world are chicken wings and they have been for as long as I can remember! Whenever I would go to a restaurant it would be my go to order! Then I started to have bad experiences eating out, they were undercooked, raw or not crispy enough and once I even had a screw from the fryer in my meal!
So after a string of bad luck ordering in or eating out we decided to make our own. Costco do a package of around 50-60 wings (5lbs) for between 22 and 25 dollars, and let me tell you the recipe I am going to share beats any take out or restaurants wings and cost less!
Now we sometimes split the package into two meals or if we just want to overload on protein we cook the whole thing and just have wings!
So to make our favorite kind follow the ingredients and recipe below!
Ingredients for 5lb of wings:
2 cups of flour
2 tablespoons smoked paprika or sweet paprika your preference
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
1/2 cup melted butter
Directions:
Place wings onto paper towel and pat dry.
In a zip lock bag add all of the dry ingredients, seal the bag and shake to mix.
Add the wings into the dry mix, seal bag and shake to coat the wings.
Set in the refrigerator for at least one hour. (This step is optional but worth it)
Line three baking sheets with parchment paper and lay out the wings shaking any excess coating back into the bag.
Distribute the butter evenly over the wings, and coat using your hands to toss them.
Preheat your oven to 425° and place baking sheets into the oven for 25 minutes, after the first 25 minutes remove from the oven and flip the wings, put back in the oven for another 25 minutes.
Once cooked place into a bowl and toss in sauce of choice, we usually use a good BBQ sauce, or you can eat them as is! Enjoy!
